Congratulations to the Ladies UK Padel over 50s County Champions – Yorkshire!

Mar 10, 2024

They put on an incredible display of padel that was unmatched all weekend.

Well done to Gloucestershire Ladies who pushed them as hard as they could in the final, but Yorkshire were too strong winning 6-0, 6-0 and 6-4, 6-4, comprehensively preventing Gloucestershire from attempting a clean sweep of events.

What have the been feeding the padel players of Gloucestershire? They made all 3 finals and were winners of a Mixed event for the ages as they beat Yorkshire in a thriller, with only a super tie break splitting the two talented teams.  It was wonderful to see teams in their UK PADEL County kit and also coming so well prepared for the event with team training sessions and expert tactics prepared.

With shootouts in every event in the semifinals and or finals it was as thrilling to watch as it was to compete in a unique weekend of matches and camaraderie at the first ever Over 50 UK PADEL County Championships.

Perhaps the story of the weekend was the deciding point of the Men’s final, with the team representing Gloucestershire winning 10-8 in the Championship Shoot out. Commiserations to the Surrey men’s team who fought right till the end.
