Harrogate Sports and Fitness Centre

Padel arrived at the club in 2019 and a second court with a canopy has just been installed.

If you’re interested in joining it might help to know that all new members are entitled to a free lesson with club professional Robbie Burnett.

Padel gives a great low impact, high-energy cardio workout, it is similar to tennis, but the court size is 25% smaller than a normal tennis court.

The court is within an enclosure allowing you to use the sides in attack or when returning.

The ‘padels’ are like large table tennis bats but can also give the ball impressive speed.

Tennis balls are used – with the pressure slightly reduced to make them softer.

But whether you are playing singles or doubles, it is still a demanding sport.

They have very popular mini leagues and teams at the club.

There is regular coaching for all standards.

The opening times for the clubs facilities are Monday to Friday 7am to 10pm and 8am to 9pm on weekends.

Harrogate Sports & Fitness Centre is a members’ club and profits generated are reinvested into the club for continual development and improvement.

Success for the club means creating a fantastic facility for all the community to enjoy and benefit from, enabling members and guests to be active and enjoy sports and social activities.

HSFC has a fully equipped 4000sq ft gym, with a floodlit outside training area, a fantastic dance/fitness studio, 4 squash/racketball courts, physios, 2 boules courts, table tennis, darts, pool, cycling and running clubs, sports shop, physio treatment rooms and great facilities for functions and events, with a bar and south facing balcony.

With almost limitless free parking it’s the premier facility of its kind in North Yorkshire.
