Huge weekend of padel action in Bristol as 300 players convene for UK PADEL County Championship
The UK PADEL County Championships are back this weekend (November 15-16), returning to Bristol’s Rocket Padel – and this year’s tournament will be even bigger and better than ever before. With multiple top-10 players represented across men’s and women’s padel, the standard will be exceptionally high, delivering a fantastic experience for both competitors and spectators.
The County Championships have earned a deserved reputation as the best team competition in Britain, and some fiercely competitive games of padel are sure to be played out across the 12 doubles courts at Rocket Padel, the biggest padel facility in Britain. Some matches will also be played at nearby Surge Padel to cater for the huge turnout, with around 300 players entered.
What we don’t know yet is whether the dominance of Essex, who scooped all three titles in 2024, will be challenged by opponents from across the country who will be determined to fight for a share of the silverware.
This event is a little bit special, with many of the competitors among the best in the national rankings. In all, 34 counties are represented, and three trophies will be contested: a men’s, a women’s, and a mixed tournament.
Mark Ayers, UK PADEL Event Director, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome players from across the country. This championship showcases the incredible growth of padel in the UK. We’ve seen phenomenal interest leading up to this weekend. The County Championships always create a special buzz, and this year the level of competition is the highest we’ve ever seen. Fans can expect fast-paced action and a fantastic standard of play all weekend.”
Such is the turnout this year that organisers have elected to hold the mixed event as a knockout on Saturday, with the other two competitions to be decided on Sunday via groups and knockout rounds.
You will be able to watch the matches at your leisure through our free live streaming service on the UK PADEL Youtube channel. We’ll also aim to share some of the most eye-catching highlights on our popular Instagram channel.
If you’re able to drop by on Saturday evening at around 6pm, you’ll catch the final stages of the mixed tournament, which will feature a free players’ party and drinks from our sponsors Shandy Shack and Punchy, plus great local food.
Representatives from event sponsors HEXA PADEL, ACT Sports, and Lauralu will all be on hand to discuss any of your padel court, astroturf or canopy needs, should you be interested. And HEAD Padel will be demonstrating the latest padel racket ranges which are available from UK PADEL directly at the event or via our online shop.
To get yourself in the mood for what is bound to be an epic weekend, why not relive the exciting twists and turns that allowed Essex to emerge victorious in all three competitions last year via our report from 2024.
Perhaps Yorkshire, Surrey, and Hertfordshire, who all had to settle for runners-up spots last year, will be steeling their squads for a big challenge this weekend.
