The UK PADEL National Schools U18 Championships has marked a major milestone for the sport, becoming the biggest ever junior padel event in the UK, with 132 young players competing from schools across the country.

The breadth, depth, and standard of play took a significant leap forward compared with last year, demonstrating the remarkable pace at which padel is developing. The timed match format, once again, proved highly effective — ensuring seamless event management and an enjoyable, fast-paced experience for all players.

This year saw three new champions crowned across the boys’, girls’, and mixed categories, underlining the growing competitiveness of the field:

• Mixed Event: Epsom College edged out Colfe’s 11–8 in a thrilling final to claim the title.
• Girls’ Event: Defending champions Clifton College were eliminated at the group stage, paving the way for newcomers Charterhouse, who delivered a dominant performance to defeat Seaford 14–4 in the final.
• Boys’ Event: Defending champions Whitgift were knocked out in the quarter-finals by Aylesbury Grammar, who themselves fell at the next stage. The final saw Manchester Grammar School take on Epsom College, with MGS prevailing 12–5 to secure the trophy.

With three new champions and the overall standard rising once again, this year’s Championships represented another major step forward for schools padel and a powerful showcase of the sport’s continued growth in the UK.

“A year is a long time in padel,” said UK PADEL CEO Nick Backer. “The schools came ready for action, and the improvement across all levels was clear to see. This event is a resounding success and clearly a significant contribution growing padel in the UK.”
