The UK PADEL County Championships are setting a new benchmark for the sport’s growth in Britain.
What a weekend of padel! The UK PADEL Over 50 Championships at Rocket Padel Bristol was unforgettable.
220 players in the Over 50 category took to the courts proving once again why this series is a driving force behind the explosion of padel in the UK.
More than just a competition, the UK PADEL County Championships create unrivalled opportunities for players, brands, and communities to connect and showcase their passion on a national stage.
The incredible atmosphere that these nationwide age group team competitions are creating was once again matched with energy and commitment from the players throughout.
Day 1 set the tone for the weekend as the Mixed competition took centre stage and congratulations to the Channel Islands team, who overcame defending champions Gloucestershire in a thrilling Mixed final that had the whole venue gripped. The matches were fiercely contested, and the sportsmanship on display was second to none.
We asked why the UK PADEL County championships series is so special. UK PADEL Event Director Mark Ayers explained
“ It combines highly competitive high level and quality padel, with camaraderie and friendship in the UK’s growing padel community. It’s great padel and warmth, there is community as well as competition and it’s wonderful to seeing new counties coming to the event each time”
Super Sunday delivered more magic, as the Women’s final saw Surrey triumph over Gloucestershire, while in the Men’s event Sussex came out on top against Hampshire, capping off an incredible weekend of top-class padel. The level of play was outstanding throughout, proving once again that age is just a number for Padel.
Mark added “A huge thank you to everyone who made it possible: the players and marvellous hosts Rocket Padel, the supporters and sponsors from Back in Action who provided their Mobilisers for players, ACT Sports, Hexa Padel, Lauralu as well as Punchy and Shandy Shack who served up refreshments for the players just when they needed it, and Head who provided the first class balls that were excellent throughout.”
