Building Milton Keynes: Be the Next John and Angela!
When John, now in his 80s, realised failing eyesight meant an end to his days as a squash player, something had to replace the gap in his life. That gap was filled by padel which he says is “perfect for him” – and he found making the switch to the sport easy to manage. For Angela, adding padel to her leisure activities has added an extra layer of fun physical exercise she describes as “addictive”, action-packed and even more enjoyable than tennis. Both have made new friends through their experiences at UK PADEL courts as they explain in this clip.
This October, UK PADEL Milton Keynes opens its doors for the first time. NUPL New Season Reflects Student Padel Growth
The student padel revolution goes from strength to strength, and UK PADEL is proud to be part of the story as title sponsor of the National Universities Padel League (NUPL). An event that began with just 10 universities two years ago and about 150 players was transformed in 2025-26 (when we got behind it) as 20 universities took part and the number of players doubled. That growth continues this coming season with 28 universities and more than 450 players nationwide! To accommodate this expansion, the competition is extending from four regional conferences to five, with a brand-new London conference added to the mix. At UK PADEL, supporting the grassroots of the game is part of our core identity and we believe the NUPL is one of the most important competitions for sustaining the growth of the sport.

Padel Goes Big Down Under
The Sydney Opera House Northern Broadwalk is hosting a new event this week called “The Padel Invitational”. With headline sponsorship from banking giant UBS – and the support of other major brands like Head, Heineken, Patrón, and Philips – it brings together some of the world’s top players in an exhibition showcase delivered in collaboration with Premier Padel, the sport’s official global professional tour, and the International Padel Federation. “This year is when Australia has really woken up to the padel story and is taking it seriously as an individual sport,” said event organiser Nick Sloman. “We’re not seeing tennis participation impacted. What we’re seeing is all racquet sports are growing, and new people are getting into padel”.
